Scalloped Reindeer Card

This week Little Scraps of Heaven Designs is having Christmas in July! All the DT members created Christmas cards for the week along with recipes so you can create them as well. Here is the card I made and my recipe!

RECIPE:

File used- Christmas 3D Accents
Paper- Recollections Xmas paper and asst card stock
Red Gross grain ribbon
White gel pen
Blue and Black chalk pencil
Black Fine Sharpie pen

Make a shadow layer of the scallop shape and weld together the two shadow scallops with a small rectangle (not part of file) to make the base of your card. Cut the base card in desired color card stock. Then cut the other scallop and big circle in card stock and smaller circle in patterned paper.

Shadow scallop (aqua) measures approx. 5 1/4 in.
Red scallop approx. 5 1/8 in.
White circle 4 5/8 in.
Patterned paper circle 4 3/8 in.

For the reindeer I just assembled him on my virtual mat and adjusted size accordingly.

I did not add a sentiment to my card, just ribbon to dress him up! The inside of the card has a layer of red scallop and white circle for writing.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure check out the rest of the DT cards on Facebook here or visit our blog here!

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year!

Sorry I've haven't posted in a few weeks. The holidays were busy but things are pretty much back to normal. My girls weren't happy to go back to school either.

I want to share with you the rest of the altered plates I made for my co-workers Christmas gifts. I wanted to post them as I finished each one but time got away from me very quickly.

So here is a collage of all 6 plates. All paper piece files by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. Hope you like them and find some inspiration in them as well!

Visions of Sugar Plaums

Happy Monday!

Today I have a 2 page layout to share with you. I used Sugar Plum patterned paper by Recollections that I got at Michael's last year. I got a bunch of Christmas patterned paper on clearance last year after the holidays. I also did some mixing of files from Little Scraps of Heaven. I combined the following files: Twas the night before Christmas, Hot chocolate bears, and Valentine cupcake. The title was created in my MTC software.

Don't forget to stop by the LSHD Facebook Fan Page and play along in the Reindeer games! Fun and games with great prizes!

Anything Goes

This week's DT challenge is "Anything Goes" , so I decided to alter another charger plate from Michael's. Actually I am making 6, maybe ten of these if time permit's, as gifts for Christmas.

The pattern file I used for this plate is called "Dancing Penguins". Instead of using the music notes and the title in the pattern, I used snowflakes and typed my own title. For the snow, ice blocks and snowballs, I used pre-glittered card stock and inked the edges with TH distress ink in Tumbled Glass.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to stop by the DT Blog and check out everyone's project for this week's challenge.

For my Blog Hop project I chose the "Friends are the best presents" file found here! I knew right away when I saw this file that I had to have it. It reminded me of when I was young, probably around 10 yrs old or so. I loved watching the Raggedy Ann and Andy Movie over and over again. Before I worked on my project I had to look for the movie online! And guess what I found it here!

Because Raggedy Ann and Andy is such a vintage movie to me I decided to make some cards that had some vintage feel to them.

The paper I used is called "SW Glad Tidings" by K&Company. Every piece is inked with Vintage Photo distress ink by Tim Holtz. The tall card is a size "10" card and the other is a 6 1/2 X 5 greeting card. I added some cream lace and stamped a sentiment on one of the cards. The ornaments on the wreath have a touch of stickles on them too!

Christmas Page swap with Gina at Myscraproom

I have another swap to share with you! This one is a Christmas mini album page swap. Our pages had to be 6x6 and again use traditional Christmas colors. I used bazzill cardstock and Joys of the Seasons and Christmas solutions cricut cartridges.

First page the presents inside the sleigh are welded together using my Cricut Design Studio (a must have) to make foldable tags. The little toy plane behind the presents was the only cut from the New Arrival cart. It too was welded together to make a fold out tag. I used my i-rock tool (also a must have) to put some bling on the reindeers harnesses.

The next page I made a paper flower using my sizzix flower layers #2 die. I was going for the pionsetta look. For the center of the flower I used cream colored beads and colored them using a yellow sharpie marker. The flourish was layered with chipborad and cardstock and inked  with peeled paint distress ink. The tags/journaling pieces are graphics purchased from the Lettering Delights store. http://www.letteringdelights.com

Last page is my fold out fireplace. It is a foldout with four photomats hidden under the fireplace.

As a bous i also made a charm for everyone in my page group.

Thanks for stopping by!

Banner Swap with Gina(Scrappinlogy) at myscraproom

Hello everyone. I participated in a banner swap over at myscraproom.ning.com hosted by Gina. The word was "Believe". We had to make our banner piece 6x6 in any shape and use traditional christmas colors.

My pieces were cut out of recycled cereal boxes and bazzill cardstock using the Winter Woodland cricut cartridge. The tree branch was cut using kraft paper and then distressed in vintage photo ink by TH Ranger. Instead of cutting out the circles for the berries on the branch, I used aged mahogany distress ink and then used fired brick distressed stickles on top. For the snow effect, I used liquid applique in white and then sprinkled some fine glitter while still wet and dried it with my heat gun.

This was a fun and quick project!! I was very pleased with my results, especially being my first banner swap!!
