Altered gift box for my mom

Sorry its been so long. I altered this wooden box I purchased at Michael's. It's unfinished and ready for decorating. I used Folkart acrylic paint in Metallic Garnet red on the entire box. Once dry I covered with patterned paper by Creative Imaginations. I sanded all the edges and used distress ink in dusty concord. I sealed the whole box with glossy Mod Podge and then embellished the lid. The letter A was cut with my Cricut using base camp cart. I then ran thru my bigshot using a cuttlebug embossing folder(music notes). I made paper roses in two diff sizes and added diamond dust to the edges. My favorite part was using the Elvis stamp both outside and inside the box. My mom loves Elvis!! This will be a birthday gift for her this weekend! Love ya mom!

Nana's Nursery Baby Girl Mini Album

Hello Ladies!

Today I have another mini for you! Yet another gift for a dear friend who recently had her 2nd girl! This mini was made using one of those Michael's $1.00 bin chipboard albums. I used DCWV "Nana's Nursery Baby Girl" patterned paper along with pastel cardstock from Walmart. The baby's name was cut from the Storybook Cartridge at 1". I didn't have any adhesive pearls so i used some pre-strung pearls and used mini glue dots to hold them down. My favorite new creations were my paper roses. I cut them using my Cricut and MTC at 2" and inked the edges and used Diamond Dust to make them sparkle!! I am very pleased the way they came out!!

Other Cricut Cartridges used: New Arrival, Sentimentals, Fabulous Finds.

Teacher's Gifts

I am proud to say my son graduated from the 8th grade on June 4th.

I decided to make his Principal and 8th grade teacher a good bye/thank you gift.

The first project is an altered papermache book from Michael's. I painted it with gold acrylic paint and used paper from the DCWV "Mariposa" collection. I used mod podge to adhere the paper and seal it as well. The embellishments are prima flowers, brads for the centers and a butterfly from Michael's.

The second project is a clipboard also from Michael's. I removed the clip to make it easier in gluing down the paper. The paper is from the DCWV "Sorbet" collection. The flourish is from Tim Holtz grungepaper pack. I took some pearl ex powder and mixed it with a little mod podge and painted it on. The results were great. I added a quote from the computer on plain cardstock and glimmer misted it with "old lace". Some mini roses, a lollipop flower and lace for a finishing touch!

Congrats to my son for graduating with "second Honors"!
