Out of This World 2 page layout

Today I am sharing a 2 page layout I made using "To the Moon Collection" by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. This collection is so cute and I just had to make a layout. I was kind of stumped at first to what paper I was going to use, but then as I was going thru my paper I remembered I had recently purchased the new "Stardust" stack by DCWV. It was a perfect combo! Of course all my pieces are inked with TH distress inks. I had a lot of fun making this layout! Thanks for stopping by!

Design Team Monday Challenge

This week's design team challenge is "Anything Goes". So I altered a composition notebook for my niece who loves monkeys! I used one of the monkeys from the "Birthday Monkeys" file. The name is typed up and cut in MTC using Bernard MT Condensed font.

Design Team Monday Challenge

I found a single sheet of  "Perfectly Posh- I enjoy being a girl" by Imaginisce

 from a previous project and decided to use it. The colors on this paper are so bright and pretty. 

The LSHD files I used were "Ooh La La Collection" and "Perfume and Makeup Collection".  The title I cut using "French Script" font from Make-the-cut.

Sketch Layout Challenge

Today I want to share my layout for this week's Sketch Challenge. It's not to late to join in. Just go to the DT Blog for details.

Patterns I used: Pumpkin Stand, Haunted Graveyard and Lots of Labels. As usual my pieces are all inked using Tim Holtz distress inks. Pattern paper by DCWV- Indian Summer Fall Stack.

The sun and clouds were actually a moon with black clouds.  Just by cutting them out in different color paper you can sometimes change them into something else.

My title was typed and cut using my MTC software. I was gonna add pictures but I ran out of ink the night I was putting this layout together. My ink is soon to arrive!

"Feeling Squirrelly"

Fall is almost here and its my favorite season. I love the cool crisp air in the mornings and the sun is just right, not to hot or cold! The colors are amazing too.  So to get a head start I created this fun fall layout!

On this layout I used the "Feeling Squirrelly" file and the "Going Batty" file. These little guys are so adorable!

 I created a big acorn in the background by taking one of the acorn files and welding it together in my MTC software. One I got it to the size I wanted  then I created a shadow for it. The patterned paper I used on the acorn is "Indian Summer fall stack" by DCWV.

The tree branch is from the "Going Batty" file. I just added an acorn to it.

For my title I just typed it up in my MTC and welded the letters together. I must admit it was a little tricky. I had to cut it out a few times because the letters were so thin. But in the end it worked out.

Tuesday Project time!! 

Today I took a Teapot box file from our CK2 store and did something a little different. I made two cards and a 12x12 border strip.

My first card is a Teapot card. I used MTC software to do create a shadow around the pot and then weded the shadows together to get a card base. I removed the window from the original box to have a solid look. I took the flowers,also in the file, and used my stylus to give them some lines and dimension. Some bling in the center and foam to separate the layers. 

Next card is a tea cup card. This was simple to make as well. Just took the already included shadow of the tea cup, duplicated it and welded it together for my card base. I added one simple flower and cut out a miscellaneous tag from my MTC gallery. 

My border did involve a little work. I took a wavy border from the MTC shape gallery and duplicated it 3 times and then welded it. After it was all welded I sized it to my liking and then lined up the tea cups along the top edge. Once all were aligned, I welded the border with the cups. Last I took the flowers and leaves also from the same pattern, and sized them down and joined them to the border. By joining the two patterns it cuts the flowers/leaves out.

Marvin the Martian

This project was a birthday gift for my youngest sister. I gave it to her last month but I've been so busy that I forgot to post it.

I took a paper mache box from Michael's and painted it in black acrylic paint. My sister LOVES Marvin the Martian so I found a picture of him on Google and used my MTC software to create him and cut him out using my Cricut Expression. I LOVE my MTC software. It gives you sooo many possibilites.

On the lid I typed out a popular phrase that Marvin always uses and cut the letters out at 1/2 inch. For the rest of the box I purchased some outer space  files from SVGCUTS.com.

I made some feet out of clay but unfortunately could not get them to stay put on the box without falling off.

Last but not least I made her a Birthday card using a rubber stamp I got from a used stamp sale. So glad I picked it up.

I think my box is out of this world!!!
