Oval Cookie Box and Tag

Hi everyone! Its officially the first day of spring! Not sure what the weather here in California will bring us.

Today's Design Team project is an Oval cookie box and tag set. This beautiful box is perfect for any occasion. Just change your paper fit your needs. Not only does changing the paper give it versatility but also changing the size as well. Scale your box to fit your 12x12 mat on your computer and you get a box that measures approx. 7 inches tall by 7 inches wide and 3 3/8 deep. For this box I scaled my box approx 8 inches on my mat and I got a box that measures approx. 5 inches tall by 5 inches wide by 2 3/8 deep.

I used patterned paper by K&Company "Sweet life by Terri Conrad". I inked all my egdes with TH distress inks "Broken China". The little bunny holding on to the carrot is from Creative Kuts (sister store) "Easter Treats Collection".

This little box is perfect for those Easter treats for the kids or any one in mind! Gonna make these for my kids this Easter. Now just have to keep them hidden til then!

Here the box on the right is scaled at full mat size (12x12). The smaller box was scaled to approx 8 inches on the mat. Notice the difference in the end results.

Winner of my blog candy and Tuesday project!

First I want to thank everyone who hopped along with us. This was my first blog hop and I was a little nervous.  I hope you keep coming back for more projects!! And now,  the winner of my blog candy!!!

MARJIMAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Marjimar congratulations on your win. Please email me at my email address on the left side of my blog so I can mail out your goodies!!

Tuesday Project time!!
Today I took a Teapot box file from our CK2 store and did something a little different. I made two cards and a 12x12 border strip.

My first card is a Teapot card. I used MTC software to do create a shadow around the pot and then weded the shadows together to get a card base. I removed the window from the original box to have a solid look. I took the flowers, also in the file, and used my stylus to give them some lines and dimension. Some bling in the center and foam to separate the layers.

Next card is a tea cup card. This was simple to make as well. Just took the already included shadow of the tea cup, duplicated it and welded it together for my card base. I added one simple flower and cut out a miscellaneous tag from my MTC gallery.

My border did involve a little work. I took a wavy border from the MTC shape gallery and duplicated it 3 times and then welded it. After it was all welded I sized it to my liking and then lined up the tea cups along the top edge. Once all were aligned, I welded the border with the cups. Last I took the flowers and leaves also from the same pattern, and sized them down and joined them to the border. By joining the two patterns it cuts the flowers/leaves out.

Hope you enjoyed my projects from one file. Please visit CK2 for this file and many more!!

Today's feature is the most lovely "Dottie Duck Box" . I took this single file pattern and used it three different ways.

Fully scaled on a 12x12 virtual mat, Dottie is a beautiful box that measures approx. 5 1/4 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches wide. These measurements are for the box itself not including Dottie herself. This makes a perfect Easter treat box filled with candy, cookies or any small gift for that special child or adult!

Dottie's body parts are from solid colored card stock and inked using Tim Holtz Distress inks. Her bow is from DCWV- "Sorbet" stack, also inked with distress inks. I also added some fun feathers from a variety pack I got at Michael's.

Here is a side profile of Dottie Duck!

Next I took the same file and made a card base using the main body and welding it together.  Once the card is folded closed it measures approx.  4 1/4 inches by 4 inches. Again I inked her up using distress inks an added feathers too!

Last but not least, is this cute mini bag. I scaled the bag down to approx. 8 inches on the virtual mat and cut it out using "Clear Craft Plastic" by Graphix. I used Scor tape to adhere the bag together. I also used the same pattern paper by DCWV to make a lil handle, trim and flower.  The cute little flower on the left corner is a flower file that comes from the "Creative Kuts" store found here. The assembled bag measures approx. 3 1/2 inches tall by 1 inch wide without the handle.  This cute little mini bag makes a perfect favor to fit any occasion.  Your creativity is endless!
