Hello again!
I decided to do a little something different with paper piecing this week. I bought a charger plate at Michael's a few week's ago having no idea what I would do with it. The color of the plate just called out to me and I had to get it!
Soo I did! And this is what I came up with. I used the paper piecing file from LSHD called "Scarecrow Friends". The title I just typed up in my MTC software and cut it out. Instead of cutting out the bale of hale from the file I used a mini hay bale I purchased at Michael's. It came two in a package and it measure's 2 1/2 x 1 1/4 x 1 inch. One thing though, it is kinda messy to work with! But I did make use of all the loose hay in the package and used it to make a hay flooring.
All the paper piecing are sitting on foam squares, some single layers but most on 2-3 layers of foam.
Lastly are the little gem flowers I had in my stash. I took off the stem and placed them on fabric leaves.
I had a lot of fun creating this project. I plan on making some more for the seasons to come!

Splash of Color DT Challenge
This week's layout was fun and truly a challenge. The rules are to create a layout using black, white, and different grays with a splash of ONE color. I had to think about this one for a bit. Picking out the file to use was also challenging because all the files are so fun!
The pattern file I picked is called "Ooh La La Collection". This collection has a lot of fun elements to use.
So lets start on the background paper. I got this single sheet of patterned paper called "Chairs" by Recollections at Michael's. I attached it to a piece of 12x12 light chipboard because the PP is so thin. The lady portrait is "Marie Antoinette", Queen of France from 1774 to 1792. I purchased a Marie Antoinette digital collage sheet from Etsy found here. The picture I picked was perfect because it was already black and white with a hint of pink. This is when I decided to use pink as my splash color.
The dress form is cut out of white glittered card stock. Then I took some pink glittered lace material and wrapped it around the dress form to create a dress. I added some silver trim to the waist line that I found in my ribbon stash.
The butterflies are from my Martha Stewart's punch also from the white glittered card stock and gray and black too.
For the Eiffel tower I cut it in plain gray card stock and then took a Tim Holtz script stamp and TH distress ink in "Weathered Wood" to cover the tower.
The flowers are random from my stash. And the cute little poodle...well... is just too cute!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out this week's challenge on the LSHD fan page on Facebook!

"Feeling Squirrelly"
Fall is almost here and its my favorite season. I love the cool crisp air in the mornings and the sun is just right, not to hot or cold! The colors are amazing too. So to get a head start I created this fun fall layout!
On this layout I used the "Feeling Squirrelly" file and the "Going Batty" file. These little guys are so adorable!
I created a big acorn in the background by taking one of the acorn files and welding it together in my MTC software. One I got it to the size I wanted then I created a shadow for it. The patterned paper I used on the acorn is "Indian Summer fall stack" by DCWV.
The tree branch is from the "Going Batty" file. I just added an acorn to it.
For my title I just typed it up in my MTC and welded the letters together. I must admit it was a little tricky. I had to cut it out a few times because the letters were so thin. But in the end it worked out.
Thanks for stopping by and until the next have a great one!

LSHD DT Challenge
My first Little Scraps of Heaven Designs DT project is a birthday card. The DT challenge is to create a layout or project using "Something Old". At first I struggled trying to figure out what I was gonna make.
So I picked the oldest paper stack I could find. The paper is "Celebrate" by American Traditional Designs. This old pack has die cut shapes and titles which I used on my card as well as the coordinating patterned paper and solid card stock I used for the base. The bear coming out of the present comes from the file "Christmas Bears Pattern Collection". I left out the bow piecing and stars from the present file and added ric rak instead. For the bear I used shimmery cream colored card stock. All the piecings including the balloon and title are inked in TH distress inks.
So start pulling out your old paper and embellishments you've been neglecting and join us in the "Something Old challenge" and post your projects on Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Facebook page. Can't wait to see what you create!!
